How It Works
I’m often on-site, working with loud tools and busy hands which means calls can be missed during the day. This page explains the easiest way to reach me, what I’ll need from you, and what happens next once we start the process.
The type of work I specialise in
Lee Valley Carpentry & Joinery focuses on bespoke carpentry projects including fitted kitchens, made-to-measure wardrobes, stair renovations, media walls and full interior door installations.
To maintain quality and realistic lead times, I’m not currently taking on small repair jobs or short-notice handyman work. My typical projects involve full installations or larger pieces of work where careful planning and attention to detail really matter.
The best way to contact me: WhatsApp
The quickest way to get a response is to message me on WhatsApp. It lets me reply between jobs, or when I can safely stop what I’m doing - and it helps avoid missed calls and phone-tag.
If you prefer to call, that’s absolutely fine. If I don’t answer, please leave a voicemail and I’ll return your call as soon as I can.
❋ Step 1 - Send a quick message
To help me understand the job and respond quickly, please include:
A brief description of what you need
Your postcode / location
A couple of photos (and a quick video if helpful)
Approximate measurements (if you have them)
Your ideal timeframe (if relevant)
For smaller jobs, I can often give a guide price from this information. For larger or more complex work, I may suggest a free, no-obligation visit so I can quote accurately.
❋ Step 2 - Visit and quotation
For bigger projects I’ll usually arrange a visit to check measurements, assess the space and talk through options in detail.
One initial site visit and quotation is provided free of charge.
If further visits are requested before a deposit is paid, these are charged at £100 per visit. If a revised or additional quotation is requested before a deposit is paid, this is charged at £50 per quote.
Once a deposit has been received and the project is confirmed, any further visits relating to that job are included at no additional cost.
After the visit, you’ll receive an estimate/quote based on the work discussed.
❋ Step 3 - Lead times and booking
As a guide:
Larger jobs (e.g. kitchen fitting, multiple doors): usually around two months’ lead time
Smaller jobs: may be possible sooner, depending on the diary
To secure a booking date, I normally require a 50% deposit.
Kitchen fitting: what’s included
If you’re planning a new kitchen, I can help with:
Fitting units
Fitting worktops
Installing appliances
Practical advice through the process, from planning to completion
Please note: I don’t carry out electrics or plumbing. If needed, I can advise on what to arrange and when, so the job runs smoothly.
